The Barren County Chapter was founded in 2008 and has achieved growing success since its inception. Each year, the Barren Chapter awards a Professional Development Scholarship to a local working woman and sponsors a member of the youth to participate in the Glasgow-Barren County Leaders of the Future Program through the local Chamber of Commerce.
The Barren County Chapter hosts a Monthly Member Luncheon, Quarterly Meetings that offer extended networking opportunities and is working diligently on making a difference in the community. Educational opportunities are made available each month through a speaker at the luncheon.
In 2010, the Barren County Chapter hosted its first Flip-Flop Fun Walk to raise funds for a local charity and for the chapter’s scholarship fund. This event, along with a basket and handmade quilt raffle, helped raise enough funds that the chapter was able to fund TWO professional development scholarships.
